How do we get to Sun Lakes?

For information on how to get to Sun Lakes, check out our maps and driving directions.

What if I can't make it by check-in time?

As long as you have a deposit on your unit, we are happy to hold it for your late arrival. Our office is open until 9 most nights, later on Fridays, to accommodate late check-ins. You are still welcome to arrive after office hours - contact us and we will make arrangements to let you in to your cabin or site and register the next morning.

Will I be able to enter the park if I arrive late at night?

Washington State Parks maintains a traffic control gate at the entrance to the Sun Lakes/Dry Falls State Park, which may be closed after 11PM from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The exit lane to this gate may be closed with a chain, but is never locked. Reserved and registered guests of Sun Lakes are welcome to open the exit lane and enter the park. Please re-close the gate after entering.

Accommodations

What are the cabins like?

Our Lakeside units are small, rustic cabins with a single room plus a bathroom (our Lakesides with Extra Bedrooms have an additional, separate bedroom). With their close proximity to the water, the Lakesides enjoy some of the best ambiance in the resort.

Our Poolside units are single-room units with a bathroom, but they are slightly larger than the Lakesides. They are within short walking distance to our pool, and enjoy a large shared lawn space. Our poolsides are duplex units and are often the cabin of choice for groups.

Our Mobile Homes are spacious with the largest kitchens of all our units. They have separate bedrooms and a separate living/dining/kitchen area. They have lawn areas, and outdoor decks on the front of each unit.

All cabins have a kitchenette with a refrigerator, stove, sink, toaster, and cupboard space.

Our newest cabins, the Lakeviews, are spacious duplexes with two nice rental units. Each has two separate bedrooms with one king and one queen bed. These units enjoy a modern, well-appointed kitchen, a spacious living area with vaulted ceilings, and a large covered porch with marvelous views of the lake and basalt cliffs.

Are the cabins air conditioned?

Yes, all our cabins and mobile homes have their own air conditioning units. The Lakesides and Poolsides have in-wall units, while the Mobile Homes and Lakeview units enjoy central ducted air.

What is provided with the cabins?

We provide bedding and bath towels for our guests. You should bring your own beach towels, cookware and dishes. We also recommend bringing your own barbeque, lawn chairs, outdoor blankets, etc.

Do you have pull-through RV sites?

Yes, we have both pull-through and back-in sites. Our friendly reservation staff can help you choose the best site for you.

Weather

What's the weather like at Sun Lakes

Our weather is incredible for most of the season. Beginning in early or mid June, the sun comes out and the temperature warms up to mid-seventies. July and August are very warm and sunny with the temperature in the mid-eighties. September remains a great month weather-wise, staying warm and sunny until almost October. We get very little rain, if any, and when we do it is usually clears up the same day. We do get some wind, mostly at night. Check out the current conditions!
